Bulbasaur 4: Not approved. It was good, and description was as good as always, but there were some things I feel you fell short on which meant you aren't ready for intermediate status yet. But I'm sure you can try again with the next mock reffing

===Round 10. FIGHT!===

Exclusively for this round, your main man DL's here reffing the playground brawl! We got a clown picking on a kid that Pikasmart-mouthed her way into pissing him off. Better watch out kid, that clown might go "It" on you..

MrClown dosen't like this darned rodent dashing around in confusion. He dosen't get a break from it though, as the crazed hyper rat builds up an astounding amount of energy in its body-before luckily flying at MrClown. The force of the Volt Tackle sends him flipping, hitting his head on the jungle gym. Pika landed shoulder first, incurring some damage from bullrushing McClown like that. Rubbing his head, McClown spies a handball! Grabbing it, he forcefully throws it at Pikachu.

Breathing heavy from using such an attack, Pikachu gets cracked in the face by the handball. Those things hurt!!! He grabs his face, now adorned with a red mark right in the center of his forehead.

MrClown: -2E/-16H (13 from Volt Tackle, 3 from hitting the bar)

Pikachu: -11E/-7H (4 from recoil, 3 from handball)


Did that mime just seriously hit him with a ball? No. Pikachu laughed the hit off, further infuriating the Mime. Unappreciative of the laugh, MrClown dashed over to the now muddy sandbox in the area, and began to expend a ball of energy. Pikachu turned around-and pointed his hands skyward. volumes of electric energy flew though his body, giving him a pretty yellow halo.

A halo that then became encumbered with both sand and energy. MrClown released a shock wave that raged through the rain- crashing into Pikachu and throwing him backwards.

Reassuming a stance for battle, Pikachu felt his body for damage. Internally, everything felt ok. Externally, he felt..nothing! Good no more weird status effects!

MrClown: -5E

Pikachu: -6H (Power raised)


With the storm clouds still showing some promise, Pikachu looked up to them, chu'ing his heart out. MrClown didn't like that noise, and began to emulate a frosty blast of power he remembered from that nasty Froslass a few rounds back....well, that was the plan. When no moisture formed around his hands, he pondered if he even really knew the move...until a loud boom shook the area, and McClown spotted the glowing Pikachu.

Whom pointed one finger at him, before giving off his signature uber trademark CHUUUU as a column of lightning the size of the sand box plummeted down on MrClown.

MrClown didn't think that was funny, as he fell out, and we got to see the internal composition of a Mime Jr-before he was left sizzling.

Pikachu: -11E

Okay, I'm going to try out for a contest judge...here goes.

MOCK CONTEST

Skier Daniel and Snover [M]

Mist ~ Bullet Seed ~ Blizzard

Snover, already having been released from Daniel’s ball, walks up onto the stage and takes a deep breath to prepare himself for his appeal. He begins by spinning around, a light, semi-transparent Mist being released through his arms as he does so. The Mist lingers in the air around him as he then starts to issue a Bullet Seed from his mouth. The many seeds fly through the air, but Snover isn’t done yet as he finishes by holding up his arms and discharging a strong gust of icy cold wind. The Blizzard catches the seeds in midair and freezes them, causing the seeds to instantly drop to the ground. As the seeds fall, the bright light catches them through the Mist and creates a lovely shining effect. The audience applauds and Snover is hustled off the stage.

Evaluation: While the moves used in the appeal did manage to showcase Snover’s unique typing and skills, the Mist obscured some of the visual presentation to the audience; however, it worked out in the end as the sun provided a wondrous finishing touch to the falling Bullet Seeds. Whether it was accidental or pure skill, we award this appeal an 8.75 out of 10.

Magician Becca and Infernape[M]

Calm Mind ~ Fire Spin ~ Shadow Claw

Becca’s Infernape quietly steps out from backstage, his trainer Becca calmly following before wishing good luck and crossing the stage to observe on the sidelines. Infernape starts by taking a seat on the stage, crossed legged and his eyes closed, almost as if meditating. In fact, it seems as if he is Calming his Mind. A few moments pass before small flames begin to dance around the Infernape, growing and increasing in size until a large, fiery tornado is circling around where he had been moments before. Unfortunately, the fire spreads, as this is a grassy arena, and catches the whole stadium on fire. The audience panics and starts to file out of the stands, and no one notices as Infernape explodes out of the top of the flaming vortex. Emergency crewmembers release multiple Wailmer, who immediately start putting out the fire with their Water Guns.

Evaluation: Though the appeal was excellent in thought, perhaps you should have taken into consideration that this is a flammable arena. The audience was extremely frightened and the fire distracted everyone from your appeal. Unfortunately, this appeal is only awarded 2 out of 10 points, but please save this performance for an arena that can handle such techniques.

Pirate Jeff and Bronzor [/]

Safeguard ~ Shadow Ball ~ Flash Cannon

A rather lengthy gap of time separates the second and third appeals, but after the arena is restored Jeff’s Bronzor is able to appeal before the audience and, most importantly, the judge. The levitating creature nervously takes the stage and is ready to begin.
Bronzor quickly surrounds himself with a glimmering Safeguard, the sparkling effect causing quite a ruse from the audience. A small, black sphere begins to form in front of the creature, getting larger as strands of the ghostly energy separate themselves from the orb and radiate outwards like octopus tentacles. Bronzor then releases the Shadow Ball into the air and responds by shooting a bright beam of energy a few seconds afterwards; the two attack collide in midair, causing a small explosion followed by a gentle stream of white and purplish-black sparks raining down upon the arena. Bronzor happily bounces around before crossing the stage and waiting with his trainer for the results.

Evaluation: What an impressive appeal! I felt it exemplified Bronzor’s Steel qualities nicely and that is what’s important. In addition, the effect of the Safeguard and the Shadow Ball and Flash Cannon remains falling was quite a spectacle and created a beautiful light show. I look forward to seeing what you have in store next. This appeal is awarded 9 out of 10 points.

BestTrainerInTheWorld Chris and Carnivine [F]

Energy Ball ~ Magical Leaf ~ Swallow

After such a great appeal beforehand, Carnivine takes the stage, eager to present what she can do to the audience. She creates a lovely emerald orb of energy and fires it high into the air; the Energy Ball leaves a sparkling green tail as it flies through the air. Shortly afterwards, as the Energy Ball begins its arc, Carnivine fires multiple multi-colored leaves into the air. The Magical Leaves proceed to cut across the Energy Ball, slicing it into many glittering green shards of Grass energy. Like the previous appeal, the energy remains fall down onto the arena, but she isn’t done yet as she opens her large jaws wide and soars all over the stage, eating and Swallowing them. The audience applauds as she finishes, grinning broadly with her mouth glittering a lovely green.

Evaluation: Another great appeal! It really personified Carnivine justly; I loved how at the end, the Swallow accentuated what large jaws the species have. The techniques used also characterized her Grass qualities extremely well; I have to say that this appeal is going to receive full marks, a perfect 10 out of 10 points!

Rain continues to fall on to the playground arena, where No-Frowns and Little Miss Chu are duking it out. The grass is wet and could cause a slip or two, the slide is even more slide-able, and the sandbox’s sand contents are soaked and have formed oddly shaped clumps. Why are we out here in the first place? Well, rumor has it that Miss Chu stole No-Frowns red clown nose and caused the fight, but instead of working it out like mature adults they’ve instead decided to make a scene…way to go, guys. Nevertheless, the next round’s orders are given and the battle commences in the tenth installment…

Mr. Clown jumps into action, literally, being the cute baby Pokemon that he is, and dashes over to the sand box. Meanwhile, Pikachu scratches his head in some deep thought. He vaguely remembers hearing the words tackle and…bolt? He doesn’t remember, regrettably, and turns in a random direction and throws himself. Unfortunately, he entirely misses Mr. Clown and instead smashes into the metallic side of the slide and collapses onto the ground in pain as the playground toy reverberates loudly. The good news is that it knocked him out of confusion; the bad news is that the harsh contact with the metal cost him a chunk of his stamina. Ouch.

[Pikachu: -5 HP]

Upon jumping into the wet sandbox, Mr. Clown nearly starts to play in it before remembering that – oh right! – he’s in a battle. Searching for something to Fling, he looks around and pulls up a medium-sized red pail filled with a couple inches of water and wet sand. While it seems to be a little bit of strain on his body to carry it, he walks forward a few feet, smile never leaving his face, before throwing it at Pikachu’s head over by the slide. It nails him, an explosion of water and sand following the collision. Pikachu immediately grips his head and shakes violently and then turns around to glare at the now dancing Mr. Clown. A large spark erupts in front of the yellow mouse and several more form around it, eventually covering Pikachu entirely before disappearing as fast as they appeared; the Charge will power up and boost his electric attacks for a while now. Mr. Clown ignores the whole light show and happily holds up his hands in front of him and looses a luminescent beam of white energy that shoots in Pikachu’s direction. He isn’t getting a break this round as he is hit for yet more damage and adds to his mounting frustration, though luckily for Pikachu there is no added effect. Mr. Clown claps his hands at his increasing success thus far.

[Mr. Clown: -7 E / Pikachu: -8 HP, 2 E]

Mr. Clown’s ecstatic visage is erased as he sees Pikachu turn around and grin sinisterly at him. Frantic, he tries to conjure up that Ice Beam he’d Mimicked from Froslass so many rounds ago. However, is isn’t able to gather the ice energy correctly as he seems to have forgotten it. Unable to defend himself, Pikachu smiles maniacally as a cone of electrical energy forms around his pointed finger, growing and growing substantially, until crackling with an overabundance of electricity it is fired at the helpless Mime Jr. The poor clown is pummeled by the electrical assault, severely shocked and sizzled as the electricity courses through his body. The remains of the Thunder vanish into the atmosphere and a charred, scorched Mr. Clowns is left standing, weakly coughing up clouds of ash. He then keels over in pain as the poison catches up to him this round.

Right, this took much to long DB but here is ye verdict. I'm sorry to say but your Mock Battle is not approved. The description was good and easy to follow but you failed to follow one of the instructions with the battle. Also the end stats were a bit confusing as you seemed to forget to add in damage to one stat and another may have been to low. If you could PM me I'll tell you more on how to improve for the next time.
However your Contest reffing was good, and description there was a definite asset. I thought the way you portrayed the various attacks coming together was quite good. Still, the points you gave each contestant was a bit high so in the future remember to be a bit more critical of the appeals. As a Contest Ref though, I am approving you.

Ok DL I've looked over your mock reffing and unfortunately I'm not sure. So I'm going to let one of the other two look it over.

DL: I'll approve you for a promotion to Intermediate. The reffing itself seems more or less solid, and that's why I'm okay with promoting you, but there are a few things to work on: 1. Your energy usage seems to vary more than it should, from 2 for Fling to 6 for Charge (it should probably be higher for the former and lower for the latter). 2. Your damage seems to vary a bit too, as Fling should probably do a touch more damage than that - your energy usage for a 3 damage Fling seems spot on, but it should probably be more powerful in the first place. Your damage increase for Charge seems a bit high, but if you increase super-effective attacks by the same amount (Charge doubles damage in-game much like SE attacks), it's okay; just make sure you can defend yourself if people have to ask you about this.

If none of this makes sense, I'm sorry, as I'm kinda tired. Long story short: you're Intermediate now.

Here we are again for round ten in this exciting play yard feud between of all things a clown and a little girl. The weather is also being very odd today as it has started to bucket down the rain like there is no tomorrow. Both of the trainers Pokemon don’t seemed to be impressed as the rain pitter pattars on both of their heads.

As soon as the trainers give their commands both of their Pokemon leap into action like tiny robots. A great yellow glow beings to emanate from the yellow mouses red cheeks and soon shrouds its whole body as it charges for a head on collision with the poor pink clown. Only realising it too late MimeJR gets a direct hit and flies back scraping on the ground till he it’s the sandbox, but Pikachu also gets his jus desserts as he lands fast first into the ground. Desperately looking for something to throw back at the Pikachu he looks around and spies a handful of mud and sand and quickly chuckles as he makes it into a ball and throws it at Pikachu. (BANG) The ball gets a direct hit as it splatters horribly across his face.

MimeJR [-3E, 12H]

Pikachu is starts to scratch at his face to try and get some of this mud out of it, but remembers its trainer’s orders and stands firm concentrating real hard. (Imagine Goku powering up if he was 2 feet tall and looked like a mouse) tiny bits of rock start levitating near his as a pale yellow aura surrounds the Pikachu once again. MimeJR seeing this display starts to laugh his head off and he points once again at his beloved sand box and a slight brown beam shoots from his hand getting a direct hit from the sand box. Suddenly it starts to rumble and a massive tidal wave of sand arises from it and heads towards Pikachu. Before Pikachu can finish of his charging it crashes down on him like a helpless bug underfoot. This has got MimeJR really happy as he starts to dance around.

MimeJR [-6E]

Pikachu [-4E -8H] Power Raised

A tiny yellowy brown paw covered in mud and sand emerges from the great brown pile of doom that had been sicked on Pikachu by MimeJR. Pikachu gradually pulls himself out with his eyes set on the minute pink clown. He starts to pool all his energy into a thunderous attack, lightning in the sky streaks from cloud to cloud. As MimeJR watches the growing thunderstorm over head he remembers how to do and Ice beam attack after a few seconds of thinking he puts out his right hand and starts screaming his name really fast. Suddenly a tiny blue bolt of ice sags from his hand and lands in front of him. With this new development MimeJR starts to go into a state of panic as he runs around the playground yelling and screaming for his life. Pikachu on the other hand remains cool and collected as he releases a giant thunder bolt onto the panicking pink clown. Who promptly responds by falling onto the ground blackened with tiny sparks jumping around his body

Crazy Elf Boy: You're approved as Rookie Ref. Overall it was easy to read and some parts quite amusing, though there were some odd turns of phrase. The Ice Beam sagging was strange, I think you were saying it was too weak to hit. It probably would still hit Pikachu, even if it did very little damage. Fling was odd as well, as its supposed to be items but mud is fling-able . . . so it's all right. The damage and energy numbers were fine, though Toxic might be adding on a bit more damage per round now. Good job, and off to reffing with you!
