Ok. Buisness here.

Adrenaline: I can start you as rookie. Yer reffing style is longer that most since you focused on each attack, but that's ok. Just be careful if you ref a battle with combo attacks and what not.

Kurosakura: Yer approved as well (Rookie...yeah), but 1 question. Why did Counter do so much damage?

In the games and anime, Counter sends the attack back at 2x the damage, and Wobls got hit in the face with her own Aqua Tail, so I figured it'd be at maximum damage (8) and then multiply that by 2.

Ahh. Ok. That is perfect logic. However, ASB has a modified Move list that is available to help keep the feel of Anime style battling. We toned down the reflection moves (Counter, Mirror Coat, Metal Burst and Bide) so that they do Increased damage, not necessarily double (helps people survive battles, yada yada yada.)

So no, you did nothng wrong, I just should have plugged the ASB move list :O.

Round 22 begin!

Wobl starts the round off by coating it's tail in water and slamming it against it's opponent.(emo -8hp, Wobl en-7 ) However, Using an ancient fighting technique, emo hits Wobl back with x2 power(Wobl -12hp Emo-7en)

Steamed, Wobl creates several hearts that float toward emo.(Wobl -5en) She trys to react, but suddenly her head clouds and she begins beating herself with her fists. The hearts hit and Emo's muscles soften (emo -2 attack)

Emo shakes her head clearing her confusion. She then uses psychic powers to pull leaves from outside and make a knot around Wobl.(Emo -8en Wobl-10hp) Relizing he needs to end this battle soon, Wobl sing a deadly song of death(Wobl-6en) As the round ends the song counts down(Perish Song at 2)

Alright, a new Mock Battle to ref! I made Totodile male since Endorphine's attacks referenced him as such, and made Ledian female to balance it. I also had it as though Endorphine posted attacks first, since the wording would make it seem as such. Anyway...

I am currently a Rookie Ref, and I am going for Intermediate Ref or (if possible) Experienced Ref.

Arena:
On top of the Sears Tower! Although now technically called the Willis Tower, it will probably always be known as the Sears Tower until the current generations fade away. To prevent any unfair advantages to Pokémon that can't fly/float/etc., my Gallade will be standing ready to Teleport and catch any that fall off that are unable to save themselves; this will cost a 5% HP penalty from the shock of falling.

The top of the Willis Tower, formerly (and still unofficially) known as the Sears Tower, seems still and quiet, save for the constant breeze, with the intermittent harder gust now and then. The ref stands at the bottom of the building, then sends out his Gallade and they teleport to the top. Endorphine and Rhinestone Dewdrops, upon arriving to the building, are forced to take the elevator all the way to the top instead. Upon arriving, they send out their Pokémon and call out attacks.

Tototile starts the battle by charging towards Ledian, his fist getting colder as he runs. Ledian tries to stop him in his tracks by emitting a loud Screech, which shakes Totodile down to the core but doesn't stop his momentum. As the noise clears, Totodile finds himself in Ledian's face, his fist still charged with cold. He swings his fisted claw and smacks her right in the abdomen, dealing some decent damage before jumping back and out of the way.

Totodile doesn't waste any time before charging his next attack, summoning all of the water he can muster from within him, stockpiling it all together in his tiny little body. Ledian meanwhile is calling upon a special kind of wind, and it doesn't take long for it to start flowing towards Totodile. However, the little Totodile finishes his charge first and launches a huge blast of water you wouldn't expect a small creature like him to be able to put out. Ledian gets knocked backwards for quite a while from the force as the Silver Wind flies by and batters Totodile a bit.

Totodile steadies himself and looks around to try and find Ledian, but his attack sent her flying pretty far. Even still, he gets ready his claws for when she does appear. He hears a small buzzing sound from far away and listens as it gets closer. Ledian suddenly appears, her fist outstretched as she flies by and gives Totodile a seemingly light tap, though her Screeching earlier made him more susceptible to it. However, Ledian doesn't come out of it unscathed, as Totodile managed to stretch his arm as she flew by and gave her a nasty Slash down her side.

Ahem. Yes.

The first mistake will come by PM. Next, Hydro Cannon with 17 damage is a bit much seeing is there is no super-effectiveness, but that's only off with about two points so no biggie. Silverwind also has a higer-energy cost, three is a bit low. In all, your energy-distribution is a bit off, IMO, but you can work on that. The reffing itself (text) was nicely written and the damage was almost perfect.

That's why I'm promoting you to Intermediate ref. Merry Christmas!

We begin the round with both Pokemon looking at each other and surveying the outcome of the round. Totodile began first and blasted forward with a fist of frozen water. Ledian had been prepared for this and screamed at a huge decibel force. The soundwaves hit into Totodile and he clenched his eyes tight as the sound echoed around his ears. He continued his attack and punched Ledian on the right knee. It felt quite cold.

Ledian shivered slightly but grinned. She flapped her wings at immense speed and conjoured up a blustering wind which had the slight tint of silver in it. Totodile was nearly blown away had he not clamped onto the ground using his jaw. Ledian suddenly felt a surge up her body as ALL stats were raised. Booyah. Totodile frowned, obviously not happy, and began to create a small blue sphere which grew...and grew...and grew before Totodile threw it at Ledian. It made contact and exploded causing large amounts of water to come crashing down onto Ledian. Totodile knelt down and panted; that one took a lot out of him.

Ok yes, no excuse.

Anyway, I looked at it. Energydistributions, damage, it all made sense. The reffing itself was good, the layout is readable, the colors are nice in contrast that makes it easy on the eyes and helps spotting for calculations.

The story or battle-description wasn't that special, but it's certainly not bad at all. You've been a steady, dependable ref for a while now. Coming for newbie to this is the main reason for me to promote you to Expierenced Referee.

This battle takes place on top of the magnificent Sears tower. It is a fight between Rhinestone Dewdrops and Endorphine; the winner will be determined by who knocks out all the opponent’s pokemon first. The wind sweeps through the hair of both fighters as it picks up dirt on the ground as well as trash. Both trainers throw pokeballs onto the field one of the balls reveals a tiny flying lady bug who sort of looks like a Japanese superhero, while the other ball releases a tiny blue turtle that looks quite happy and begins to bound around spouting its name. Ledian begins this fight by taking a deep breath and releases a giant wave of sound which pierces the ears of Totodile as well as both the trainers. As the screech resounds through his mind Totodile rushes towards Ledian and punches the flying bug with an icy punch which causes Ledian to be knocked down a notch.

Shaking of the ice encasing a bit of his body Ledian gets back in the game by flying higher into the air and then begins to flap his tiny wings in a violent manner. His wings start to conjure up large violent wind which heads towards Totodile, the wind almost pushes Totodile off the tower but he manages to grab the edge at the last second and pull himself up. Getting back onto the tower Totodile reaches deep inside himself and manages to create a mass of water inside his body and pushes it out at Ledian like a cannon shot. The water strikes Ledian almost knocking him out of the sky.

After creating all that water Totodile tries to attack Ledian again, but all he can really do is just take a small rest on the ground to let his body recharge from the shot. Ledian takes this opportunity and punches Totodile with a punch almost at light speed.

The battle gets underway on the top of the beautiful Sears Tower. As the two trainers preparing to battle get to the arena, they make their way to the roof. The first trainer, Endorphine, throws a Pokeball into the air revealing a battle-ready Ledian, while the
second trainer, Rhinestone Dewdrops, responds by sending out a Totodile that begins to dance the moment he is released from his Pokeball. Starting the battle off, Ledian begins to emit a defeaning Screech, which causes Totodile's ears to start ringing in the process.
But the Totodile isn't intent on letting the Ledian get the better of him right off the bat, and he delivers a painful Ice Punch to Ledian's side, the Ledian screeching with pain as a little bit of ice begins to form on his abdomen from the frosty fist.

Ledian: -11 Health, -6 Energy
Totodile: -6 Energy, Def. -2

Hovering into the air, Ledian conjures up a Silver Wind, beating his wings furiously as a strong wind gust filled with some small blasts of bug energy pushes Totodile back a bit. Totodile is able to steady himself shortly after the wind dies down, though, and as he opens his mouth, he shoots out a massive, fast blast of water from his mouth that strikes Ledian with a great deal of force, causing him to lose a little altitude but still remain airborne.

Ledian: -17 Health, -7 Energy
Totodile: -7 Health, -10 Energy

Seeing his opponent fall into a recharging state due to all the power he put into that big blast of water, Ledian charges fist-first into the panting Totodile, hitting him with a punch almost too fast to see coming, causing the Totodile to be knocked back a bit from that
speedy hit.

Totodile: -8 Health, *recharging*

Ok, first up, the energy distribution. Screech and Icepunch got the same energy-score from you. Six, seven Energycost for Icepunch is ok, but then I would've reduced the EN-cost for Screech. Especially since you only took away five energy for agility.

Same for Hydrocannon. You can charge more energy for such a huge attack.

The rest was good. So unlike your energy-distribution, the damage-distribution was excellent; and the story was ok.

The only thing I'd add is some sprites, but that's just because I like visualisation. That's personal.

I'm approving you as Rookie-ref, but you're not that far of intermediate, so try for it at the next mock-battle.

Yeah, I never really did any serious calculating for energy usage in the old ASB, just putting in a rough degree of fatigue in words (e.g. moderately fatigued, heavily fatigued), so it may take a bit of time for me to get used to how it generally works.

On Agility, didn't you mean Mach Punch? I'll try and make up some lost ground on the next mock reffing, if I get the chance and time.

And to think, IIRC it took me two tries to get approved as a ref for the first time in the old ASB, so getting it on the first try is great.

Okay, I have never had this properly explained to me, and now I have a ref that I need to know it for.

In the case of a DQ where there are points awarded, who gets the "win" from the DQ? Is it the person who is currently in the lead, or is it the person who calls DQ on the other person? For reference, it's the battle where this is the last round that has been reffed. Rossymore is leading 50% to 27% on their final Pokémon, but Rossymore has been DQ'd by Mike Mysterio. Does Rossymore get the win for having his Pokémon in the lead, or does Mike get the win for calling DQ with Rossy's Pokémon under 55%?

Hey everyone! Kurosakura here reporting from the skydeck of the Sears Tower, now known as the Willis Tower! Eep! It sure is windy up here! Endorphine and Rhinestone Dewdrops are on the roof of th building ready to duke it out with Ledian and Totodile, respectively. Orpheus, my Umbreon here, will keep any Pokemon from falling off this thing with Psychic, but your Pokemon's gonna get a -5 HP penalty from fear of dying via SPLAT! Anyways, let's get this show on the road before it looks like I have an albatross in my hair!

Ledian starts off this battle with an ear-piercing Screech, although drowned out by some of the wind, it still REALLY REALLY HURTS MY EARS! *bends down to cover poor Orpheus' ears* Anyways, everyone, except for maybe Ledian, can't take this noise, and Totodile can't concentrate with his ears ringing! He's lucky though, the wind propelled him to sock Ledian and knock her back a few feet, which turns into a few more feet due to the wind pushing her back further.

Ledian: -9 HP, -4 EN
Totodile: -0 HP, -8 EN, -2 Def.

Okay, she's pushed back a bit, big deal. The little five star Pokemon starts flapping her wings really hard to produce a silvery wind, striking Totodile pretty hard, but he returns the favor with a Hydro Cannon, blasting her through the guard and off the edge of the roof! Orpheus brings her back with a Psychic, but that little buggy's looking pretty frazzled.

Ledian: -19 HP, -8 EN
Totodile: -10 HP, -15 EN

Ledian's not appreciating this pain, so she socks Totodile this time with a quick Mach Punch, sending him backwards a bit, but he comes back due to the wind. He takes this chance to come down on Ledian with his claws, Slashing her!

Totodile: -8 HP, -8 EN
