Umm, just popping here to answer that question.

KOT: You can't switch your Ability for your Pokemon. It's best this way. It may not be in any battles yet, but it may be better to have them than not.

If you don't list any of them yet, then you can't be in any ability battles until you choose them for your Pokemon.
