    Yay. Able to move my reffing stuff now. Man that's out of date as well.... Yipe.

    Anyway. Kuro. Nice descriptions, and the level for damage seemed to be consistent to your current reffings. I'd see no major problem with pushing you up to Intermediate. There was one mistake that I'll tell you about in PM, but otherwise, very good n_n.

    No, Rossy reffed 5, he forgot to count his 5th ref as number 5 and repeated the 4 from the last one.

    Conversely, chaos did the same thing, as he reffed two rounds with the number 8, meaning he actually reffed 6 rounds.

    Therefore, chaos has actually reffed half of the rounds that were completed, as well as finishing the battle. Where have I seen that happen before…

    chaos, you should get full points because you reffed 6/12 reffed rounds AND finished the battle. Everyone else gets nothing.

    Alright, I'd like to give this a shot. I used to be a ref on another forum.

    Round 1
    Endorphine vs. Rhinestone Dewdrops
    Arena: On top of the Sears Tower!
    DQ - 1 Week
    Banned Moves - Reflective Damages (Counter, Mirror Coat, Bide, Metal Burst)

    Endorphine
    Ledian [N/A]
    Health - 100%
    Energy - 100%
    La be dah!
    screech ~ silver wind ~ mach punch

    Rhinestone Dewdrops
    Totodile [M]
    Health - 100%
    Energy - 100%
    Chomp chomp!
    ice punch ~ hydro cannon ~ slash

    High atop the famous Sears Tower, the wind is a-blowing! Today's battle should be interesting, we have Rhinestone Dewdrop's Totodile in one corner, rarin' to go and across the way we have Endorphine and their Ledian, buzzin' about! Without any further ado, the trainers shout their orders and the battle begins!

    -Ding ding ding!-

    With a bit of a twinkle in his eye, Totodile prepares for his attack. His fist on his stubby little arm appears to freeze; a layer of ice covers it momentarily as Totodile rushes towards his opponent. Ledian opens its mouth wide and screeches at the top of its lungs! The noise resonates loudly and Totodile slows, cringing from the noise. He keeps on trucking though, moreso stumbling than running now, and delivers the punch to Ledian. The screeching stops and Totodile tries to shake the ringing from his ears.

    Totodile (Health -0/Energy -6) /// Ledian (Health -8/Energy -5)
    [-Defense]

    -

    Ledian, cold from that punch, summons a wind to blow across the top of the tower. The breeze pushes Totodile, who, still irritated by that screech, opens its mouth and shoots a blast of high-pressured water at Ledian. The blast connects with Ledian and sends it flying. When the attack ends, Ledian flaps its wet wings and gets back to the top of the tower for the next attack.

    Totodile (Health -6/Energy -14) /// Ledian (Health -12/Energy -5)

    -

    Rhinestone Dewdrops orders Totodile to Slash Ledian, but Totodile refuses! He needs a bit of time to recover all that energy he just spent on Hydro Cannon. All that exertion leaves him standing there, catching his breath. Noting this opportunity, Ledian races towards Totodile with its arms outstretched. Ledian makes direct contact with the resting Pokemon, who falls back abruptly.

    Totodile (Health -9/Energy -0) /// Ledian (Health -0/Energy -8)

    -

    Endorphine
    Ledian [N/A]
    Health - 80%
    Energy - 82%
    Warming and drying back up.

    Rhinestone Dewdrops
    Totodile [M]
    Health - 85%
    Energy - 80%
    (-Def)
    Wishing he wasn't a sitting duck for that last attack.

    _________
    Notes:

    - Hydro Cannon needs to recharge one turn once it is fired.
    - Totodile took a bit of extra damage from each attack because Screech lowered his defense.
    - Ledian's gender is not specified.

    Applying to become an intermediate ref. Or higher, if you guys are generous with promotions And I gave them genders.

    Round 1

    Arena: Atop the Sears Tower!

    DQ Time: 7 days
    Additional rules: None
    Banned Moves: Reflective damages (Counter, Mirror Coat, Bide and Metal Burst)

    ~~~
    Endorphine and Ledian (female)
    HP: 100 (====================)
    EN: 100 (====================)
    Screech ~ Silver Wind ~ Mach Punch
    Rhinestone Dewdrops and Totodile (male)
    HP: 100 (====================)
    EN: 100 (====================)
    Ice Punch ~ Hydro Cannon ~ Slash
    ~~~

    ~First turn~

    Ledian gets out of her pokeball to find Totodile charging her down, with a light blow glow coming from Totodile's fist. A loud smack sound, followed by a high-pitched screech fill the arena. The screech leaves Totodile's skin shaking, no one should have to hear that up close.

    Totodile: -2 Def, -6 EN
    Ledian: -11 HP, -6 EN

    ~Second turn~

    Totodile fires off a bolt of water. I think it was water, anyway. Didn't know that water could move that fast without turning into steam. It slams right into Ledian, and she feels it. Hard. She gets knocked flying, and the wind follows her. It turns kind of silver, and then turns back and charges Totodile. As it passes him... are Totodile supposed to turn silver? Nope? OK. He doesn't like that.

    Totodile: -6 HP, -12 EN
    Ledian: -15 HP, -6 EN

    ~Third turn~

    Ledian comes charging down to hit Totodile, fist ready, while Totodile wishes he had the energy to Slash at his enemy. Just as Totodile manages to get back his energy, he gets smacked around by Ledian's speedy punch.

    Totodile: -6 HP
    Ledian: -6 EN

    ~~~
    Endorphine and Ledian (female)
    HP: 88 (====================)
    EN: 82 (====================)
    Rhinestone Dewdrops and Totodile (male)
    Ok. Here I go. Submitting for the CONTEST ref thingi. Please don't shoot me.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Hello all, and welcome to todays Bubble dome mock contest. We are pleased to welcome you all here today.
    1) Mistress Paula and Abra
    "Teleport to the far end of the platform, before firing a Shadowball upward! Finally, use Grass Knot to smash the Shadowball into the ground."
    First up, we have Mistress Paula, and her Abra. Abra appears to be concentrating... Wait, where did he... Oh, he Teleported right to the edge of the bubble. And, oh my, a Shadowball goes flying towards the roof. Better stop that Abra, don't want to pop the dome. Oh, its ok, he fired off a Grass Knot, smashing it back down to the center of the dome. Well, the colours do make for a pretty display.
    The crowd applauds enthusiastically.
    2) Bastard Simon and Nosepass
    "Alright you cheeky Bean. Power Gem those crag hangers out of your nose! While they're reflecting in the starlight,Lock-On and finish by aiming a Zap Cannon to reflect between them before destroying them."
    Now, if I may direct your attention to our next dome, Bastard Simon has just released his Nosepass. Poor thing looks like it is going to sneeze... Yes, that is a Power Gem coming out of its nose. Well, staring at them like you are proud of what you made isn't going to help you Nosepass... Ok, maybe it will. Zap Cannon. Interesting choice, and the rainbow display leaving burnt boogers for someone else to clean up. Nice.
    Light applause, and several people excuse themselves to be ill.
    3) SchoolBoy Jeff and Furret
    "Ok Furret! ! First let's show them how well you can Dig! Use Pursuit to really show your stuff through the clear ground and lunge out, firing a Focus Blast."
    Next up, Schoolboy Jeff and his Furret. Furret is off at an amazing pace, but it does not look like the bubble's base is going to let you down there, little buddy (No damaging moves to the base of the dome). Confused on what Furret should be Pursuing, she puts on a fine display chasing shadows. Attempting to convey her trainers orders, she finishes off with a Focus Blast, and is met with a small scattering of applause.
    4) InsaneAsylumEscapee Will and Gabite
    "Run down the stage and fly forth using a Dragon Rush. Let yourself be thrown up in the air gracefully by firing a Twister End by pointing to the stars and causing a Draco meteor to go whizzing by!"
    Finaly, we have InsaneAsylumEscapee Will, and his Gabite (Who named these people?)
    Gabite starts off in a strong Dragon Rush towards the edge of the bubble, but just before impact, fires a Twister at the ground (Crowd - 'Ohhhhhh'). Pointing skyward, a shining light flashes above head, before crashing in to the ground several miles away.
    The crowd cheers and applauds enthusiastically.
    -------------------------------------
    And now, Points.
    Mistress Paula and Abra
    Amazing utility and display. Didn't damage the bubble dome ether. 7/10
    Bastard Simon and Nosepass
    Interesting combination. Did cause several members of the audience to be ill. 6.5/10
    SchoolBoy Jeff and Furret
    Excellent combination, however, do pay attention to special contest rules. 5.5/10
    InsaneAsylumEscapee Will and Gabite
    Defiantly the crowd favorite. Suspense and thrills to be had by all. 8/10
    Ok Shivaree, good job, although I have a few remarks. First off, Hydro Cannon could've done a little more damage to Ledian, though the energycost was good. Then, ok that you've let Totodile recover from that attack, but it didn't have to 'refuse' the attack, just try and fail since it's tired.
    Also you should've reffed Machpunch first, since it's a priority attack. Last remark is that Totodile shouldn't get a little extra damage through Screech, but only get higher damage with physical attacks. It's not that you did it wrong, just reminding you for further reffings, since you're approved as a rookie ref!
    Chaos: The energy and damage was reffed perfectly. The writings however were short and felt a bit forced and rushed. I'm not going to promote you just yet, but a new mock reffing is coming up soon so try again, keeping my remark in mind! Just spend some more time and energy on it.
    Ayeun: The descriptions were done in first person perspective, which is ok when starting out. You do allow for imagination and you do have a general idea of how the moves should work-which is key in being a Contest Ref.
    The descriptions however, do leave something to be desired-we're getting more of a personalized aspect of your judging rather than a full out description of how the Pokemon is acting . However, if that's the way you are able to convey imagination with the way the moves are to be performed, then make sure to flesh it out a bit more.
    Your point gradient seems ok. Have to take in account you don't have too much experience with Contests yet, and so I'm eager to see what you can achieve as a Beginner Contest Ref. I'd be happy to help you out with anything Contest related; it takes a lil' time to get used to. Good job overall, you didn't leave anything out.
    Hello, I've been waiting for a match to ref for a while but other refs always beat me to it, so I'm going to go for a promotion instead so I don't get rusty! I'm Rookie now, would like to go Intermediate.
    Endorphine vs Rhinestone Dewdrops
    Round 1
    Arena
    Strong winds, somewhat cloudy
    Ledian
    100HP/100EP
    Fresh
    versus
    Totodile
    100HP/100EP
    Fresh
    The round begins quickly as Totodile dives towards Ledian, winding up a clenched claw that begins to glow a very light blue. Ledian begins to flutter backwards and opens his mouth, releasing an ear-piercing Screech (-2), which causes Totodile to wince under its awful sound (Totodile DEF -2). However, Totodile continues to charge forward, connecting Ledian on the chin with a powerful Ice Punch (-4)(-16)!
    Ledian quickly recovers and, turning towards Totodile, outstretches his wings and begins beating them at a phenomenal rate, unleashing shining energy in the form of Silver Wind, nearly blowing Totodile from the tower (-4)(-12)! Totodile manages to latch his claws into the floor of the tower to withstand the wind and, once it dies down, he swells up his belly and unleashes a massive burst of water, hitting Ledian with Hydro Cannon (-8)(-24)!
    Ledian recovers from the watery onslaught and sees Totodile is exhausted from this last attack. He smiles and rushes towards Totodile at immense speed, connecting with a lightning fast Mach Punch (-2)(-8)! Totodile is sent flying backwards and is only stopped by hitting one of the antennae on top of the tower! He struggles to get onto his feet, too tired from the last attack to follow his trainer's orders.
    Arena
    Strong winds, somewhat cloudy
    Ledian
    60HP/92EP
    Float likely a ladybug, sting like a Beedrill!
    versus
    Totodile
    80HP/88EP
    Tired and bruised
    DEF -2
    Mock Battle
    Endorphine VS Rhinestone Dewdrops
    Arena: Atop the Sears Tower!.
    Banned Moves: Reflective Damages (Counter, Mirror Coat, Bide and Metal Burst).
    DQ: 1 week.
    Round 1
    Ledian (Gender Not Stated)
    Health: [||||||||||||||||||||] (100)
    Energy: [||||||||||||||||||||] (100)
    Totodile (Gender Not Stated)
    Health: [||||||||||||||||||||] (100)
    Energy: [||||||||||||||||||||] (100)
    =====
    The trainers send their Pokémon to battle, they both just got here, to the top of the Sears Tower.
    Endorphine starts with Ledian, while Rhinestone Dewdrops send out their Totodile.
    "Start with a Screech to stop that Totodile dead in his tracks!"
    "Totodile! Ice Punch the stinkin' lil bug first off!"
    Totodile runs towards Ledian, its fist full of ice energy. Ledian, unleashes its Screech. The high-pitched sound hit the Totodile directly, causing it to stumble a little bit, but he still managed to land that Punch, almost freezing Ledian and throwing it to the ground.
    "Silver Wind 'im!"
    Ledian, having just got up, makes the wind change color slightly, and it seems to hurt Totodile.
    "Hydro Cannon it far and high away!"
    Totodile receives its trainer's orders, and it seems to be inflating itself. Suddenly, the water it had been building up fires from its mouth as strong as from a Blastoise's canon. It hits Ledian, causing the Silver Wind to stop and for the "stinkin' lil bug" to "blast off".
    "End with a Slash when it comes down!"
    "End with Mach Punch!"
    Ledian seems to be speeding towards the tower, but its using its own flying abilities to help it. Ledian is flying towards Totodile on pupose, its fist seems to gather some sort of energy. Totodile takes this as a challange and jumps up towards Ledian. Totodile recieves a Mach Punch right to the face, Ledian gets Slashed, almost in half.
    =====
    Ledian:
    -10 Health (Ice Punch) | -7 Health (Hydro Cannon) | -5 Health (Slash)
    -3 Energy (Screech) | -6 Energy (Silver Wind) | -5 Energy (Mach Punch)
    Totodile:
    -2 Defense (Screech) | -8 Health (Silver Wind) | -7 Health (Mach Punch)
    -5 Energy (Ice Punch) | -8 Energy (Hydro Pump) | -5 Energy (Slash)
    =====
    Ledian (Gender Not Stated)
    Health: [||||||||||||||||----] (78)
    Energy: [||||||||||||||||||--] (86)
    Totodile (Gender Not Stated)
    Health: [|||||||||||||||||---] (85)
    Energy: [|||||||||||||||||---] (82)
    Other: -2 Defense
    Heald: The reffing was solid. I'm promoting you to Intermediate, but I must ask. Is it intentionally that you use low energycosts and high damage?
    Kyuutsuki: I like how you got in those trainer commands in white, it makes a nice variation. The energycosts were good, the health was a tad off. You misreffed Hydro Cannon. HC is a move like hyperbeam, thus with reload time. Slash shouldn't have been able to succeed, due reload. The energy was a bit low (8) for a Hydrocannon, twelve or so would've been better. 7 damage is also too low, what about 14 or 15?
    Nonetheless, you show good potential. Just watch out for those mistakes, re-read your reffing. Approved as a rookie ref! Enjoy!
    Thanks Melg.
    I tend to go for the upper boundaries of damage, but depending on the battle, I sometimes scale it back, especially if it just a 1 on 1 or 2 on 2. 4-8 is the range I usually give standard attacks in terms of energy cost, whereas I'll usually give non-attacking attacks 2-4. I gave Hydro Cannon a cost of 8EP, which might seem low given its damage but Totodile had to rest the next turn. I agree I should have given Mach Punch a cost of 4, and perhaps Silver Wind a cost of 6.
    Ice Punch did a lot of damage because Ledian has a 2x weakness to ice, and Hydro Cannon because it is 150 base and Totodile gets STAB, although 24 may have been a little much. I'll bear these considerations in mind in my next reffing.
    Thanks for the promotion though!
    Ready! FIGHT!
    Well gang it's almost over. Both Brock and MLG aren't willing to back down yet. Despite the rock-on-rock confrontation, both have managed to hang on this long through the bouts of boulder-breaking-ba-booms!
    Golem channels the energy of the earth into his hands before unleashing Gaea's might onto the raging dinosaur (-4 E @ Golem/-13 H @ Ore). Snarling, Ore roars as a wave of ice and snow washes over the Gym floor (-14 E @ Ore/-20 H @ Golem).
    The sheet of ice starts to melt as Golem shakes his head. Still faster on the draw, energy crackles as his fist starts to glow. With raw power, he rushes the Rampardos, willing to strike to kill (-7 E @ Golem), but he misses Ore with the swing. Too much snow still on the ground impeding his attack. Lips curling in a sneer, Ore charges his own ki to his fists before unleashing it in a swirling ball of fighting power (-10 E @ Ore/-15 H @ Golem). So much for all the boasting, looks like Brock may be losing his Gym License.
    A speedy devil himself, Golem may lack a steel ball, so he hurls himself, surrounded with silver tinted energy and rolling like a whirling pinball (-7 E @ Golem/-11 H @ Ore). Ore stumbles back from the attack, snarling before he lifts and slams down his arm onto the slowing Golem (-9 E @ Ore, SPD -/-17 H @ Golem).
    Things aren't looking too good for Brock as Golem coughs up the poison coursing through his rock veins (-8 H @ Golem (TXC)). But he's still in the fight!
    Barely.
    Appeals
    Chingling (Chingling, Female ♀, Seductress Brandy)
    Rain Dance~Icy Wind~Heal Bell
    Brandy, the seducing one that she is, unleashes her Chingling. She starts off by twirling around and bringing down a pleasing dance that brings the clouds and eventually rain. As the rain falls gently onto the crowd (good thing they brought umbrellas), a cold wind starts to blow over the arena, chilling the rain and turning it into a mixture of snow, rain and sleet. As this weather starts to dampen the crowd, a ringing echoes through the wind, bringing with it a song, but it's not helping much.
    Mr. Fuzzel (Furret, Male ♂, Loli Anniekens)
    Double Team~Swift~Shockwave
    After the storm passes over, we see Anniekens and her Furret, Mr. Fuzzel... what is it with the cute Pokémon so far.. bounds through the snow like a sin wave. He gets to the snow before splitting into several copies of himself. Each one unleashes a barrage of stars that fly into the air, crossing paths un-inhibited before slowly falling back to earth. All the Mr. Fuzzels jump to the middle before an electric charge erupts everywhere, destroying the clones and causing the speckles of their charged illusions sprinkle on the snow as the stars rain down.
    Zu (Garchomp, Male ♂, Rune Maniac Denny)
    Dragon Rush~Dig~Crunch
    A contrast to the small and cute, we have the big and ferocious. An archaeologist unleashes a Garchomp by the name of Zu before the dragon shivers a bit at the cold. Glowing with its raw power, Zu throws himself forward in a fast rush before slamming into the snow, sending it pluming up, his fin disappearing under the ground. After a few tense seconds, the Garchomp erupts from the ground, sending partly frozen pieces of dirt, soil, snow, and grass flying as he opens his jaws. Teeth glowing with black energy before he chomps down on nothing, now standing above ground.
    Ranking & Ref Notes:
    Chingling and Brandy
    5.6/10.0
    A nice attempt at a cool winter day and seasonal songs. However the sleet and wind didn't help matters for the audience.
    Mr. Fuzzel and Anniekins
    8.4/10.0
    Peppy. Sparked with energy and use of clones with using multiple duplicates of attacks before unleashing a wave of electricity to charge and dissipate them.
    Zu and Denny
    7.1/10.0
    The Land Shark has earned its reputation well. While the landing was rough, and it didn't spend that much time below ground and hidden before erupting from the ground, a nice attempt for ferocity.
    Next Round!
    The next round will be a Five Round Battle between the following Combatants:
    Rune Maniac Denny and Zu Attack First
    Loli Anniekens and Mr. Fuzzel Attack Second
    Everyone else did well, and should feel proud.
    I'll grab the contest MLG.
    Alright. Mewy. First off, what I liked the most was that you did something different with this. You reverted back to the old contest-battle format, which is good to see. I had hoped that over tie people would not jut adopt my Contest methodology
    As for the actual reffing, I do like it. Its nice, and multicolored, so everything is visible. You aren't afraid of giving low scores to appeals-and you clearly justify them which is key. The Appeals themselves were engaging enough, and you don't exaggerate everything.
    Great balance + clean reffing = Contest Ref.
    Ok, Denz.
    First off, I didn't see this until now o_O. So sorry for the late-ness.
    Secondly, you're going for master ref. That's a top-position, which means I'll be very strict in looking over your mockbattle.
    Ok, general view looks good. Colors are good, easy on the eyes and there's a good distinction between the reffing itself and the EN/Damage calculation. Nice to read.
    Then, flaws/correction/remarks.
    Starting, Earth Power only costed Golem 4E, even though it is a 90 damage attack in the games, and a Moderate Fatigue-attack in our movelist. Although, moderate means a 4E-8EN cost, which proves that you didn't make a grave mistake, but Earthpower is according to me an attack that takes atleast 6 or 7 EN.
    Same thing for Avalanche. You charged Ore for 14EN, while the Fatigue is 'Moderate/High', meaning it could be at maximum 12EN; and that's to high aswell. Avalnche should cost about 7/8EN
    The damage however for both Earthpower and Avalanche was correct. The calculations you made had a good number.
    The rest of the battle was ok. More discription, like arena, wounds the pokemon suffer, are always ++, so look into that and watch the energy-costs.
    That's not enough to keep you down though, so you're approved as a Master Ref.
    Although I would like to see you working on those remarks
    Have fun.
    I warned you...applying for the rank of MAAAAAAAASTER.
    Round X
    Arena
    The Pewter Gym...is there no imagination left in the world?
    Team of Brock (???)
    [N/A][M]
    65% HP
    34% EN
    *Speed +2, Toxicated (-8% next round)*
    Earth Power ~ Dynamicpunch ~ Gyro Ball
    Team of MeLo (???)
    [Ore][M]
    53% HP
    45% EN
    *Attack +1, Defense +1*
    Avalanche ~ Focus Blast ~ Hammer Arm
    We begin this epic Gym Match of epicness with Golem collecting up his energy. A rumble is then heard from around the arena. Ore's eyes glow light blue and from out of nowhere (damn anime physics), a torrent of snow came thick and fast. Golem and Brock gave a gasp of surprise but Golem was swept up. Ore grinned...but the earth beneath him exploded, sending him flying. He landed with a thud whilst Golem emerged from the snow, shivering.
    [Golem: -% health, -% energy]
    *Speed +2, Toxicated*
    [Ore: -% health, -% energy]
    *Attack +1, Defense +1*
    Oh dear, duty calls. I shall be back to edit this later. Until then...don't review this...
    In response to MLG's Remarks and Concerns:
    The reason that the Fatigue was lowered on some of the moves was due to what I refer to as "Elemental Sympathy." If a Pokemon is of a particular Elemental Type, then wouldn't it make sense that using attacks of those elements would reduce the Energy Costs of those attacks? As such I reduce the Energy Cost of attacks that Share a Type with the Pokemon using them by 2 Energy. It's not a significant deduction, but it can make a difference. it's just easier for a Fire Type to use a Fire move in my reasoning. This also means STAB is taken into consideration as well by giving a +2 to Damage of the move that can gain a STAB.
    The energy Cost for Avalanche may have been a bit high, the thing is the Pokemon is also doubling the damage of the move and sending it back. While a +2 Energy Cost may not be much, it also resembles the energy being put into the move as well. At least I think.
    Also... YAHOO! Master Ref!
